I bought a Nook Tablet last night! It's a little heavier than I expected, but it does stuff! I got it primarily for magazines and to take to Hawaii (and figured I would discover other uses for it). I have to stop playing with it now and get started on yet another paper. (Fourteen more weeks before school is over!)

Back in February, I was wondering what sort of DVR and/or NetFlix-streaming gadget(s) to purchase. After going round and round, I had sorta settled on the new Comcast DVR with TiVo service … maybe, and a Roku a little later.

I have to get a new garage door because, first, it didn't open all the way, then it wouldn't open at all, thereby holding caorann's car hostage all day. The handyman found all sorts of things wrong with it (springs, the door itself, the frame, etc.) until it made sense to just get a new one. That will be installed tomorrow.

I'm back from a lovely Vermont vacation with caorann, lanchid, and starbuck3614. I bought flip flops, funky socks, a pill box and a pewter earrings and necklace set. Really not much at all. A job that would challenge me, increase my skills, and move me up a salary grade has been posted at my place of work the same week that Amazon dropped the price on the Kindle to $299 and Land's End is having an overstock sale that includes aqua sandals. Maybe I should play the lottery--or at the least finish up my resumé, eh?
